War Torn (Torn) Structure

War Torn [Torn]
War Torn has grown from a group of friends to the guild that we are today, the understanding of the Divisional and Ranking will help all members in enjoying the benefits of being a member of this great guild.

There is a multitude of events that are guild killers that repeat themselves often. Torn is designed to avoid the common pitfalls that we have seen over time since GW was released.
It’s a great pleasure to watch the chat and listen to the Guild in Vent as it gives me a great impression of a large extended family.

Dispute resolution:
Flaming in Guild Chat or of another Torn member is not allowed. Period.
Like any group of brothers and sisters there are times when disagreements occur, in these instances, it is very important to let a senior member, or officer mediate a peaceful resolution. Fortunately, such instances are very rare in Torn, but know that you should get the officers and/or guild leader involved ASAP if you find yourself in one.

Torn Recruiting:
The guidelines are posted on the site, and all members should take five minutes to read them. Remember all members are strongly encouraged to invite any GW player who can benefit Torn by their good personality and gaming ability. NOTE, I say personality first!
We recruit people first, players second!
Anyone can ask an officer to invite a player to the guild, but be aware that the member who made the request is responsible for that new member as a sponsor during their first few days of time with the guild.

Torn MEMBER RANKS
Guild Wars only has two game ranks; Officer and Member
This works for a very small guild of perhaps 12-20 members, but mid sized (50+) to large (up to 100) member guilds can easily suffocate under this limitation.

How does it Work?
1. ALL MEMBERS MUST REGISTER on the guild website.

- Scouting Apprentice - Members are attributed the Rank of Title after a short probationary period.

- Journeyman - Established and Active members receive the rank of Journeyman and are the majority of the members. Journeyman rank also requires consistent and active participation in guild events, helping other guild mates and in submissions to the Guild site, and good positive representation of Torn and its membership. Apprentices may request this promotion for themselves after a period of three weeks in the guild, though usually its automatic.

- Master - Exceptional members may be nominated to the position of Master. This requires three nominations, an officer vote and approval by the GL. These are the senior members. They should be though of as Warrant Officers and given such respect and are hands on Member teachers and leaders.

- Grande Master - There is an exceptional position of Grande Master. Like Masters but more stringent review and people of this position are peers of Officers should be given such respect.

2. The ranks will be visible in the players Bios on the site, and I am working on the mod in the site script to make them visible in more places including the Member List page. This is in work at this time.

IF you feel an established member should be promoted to a Master, please post your nomination in the nomination board. It will take THREE other members to agree with, before going before the officers for their vote and then the Guild Leader's final decision.

Torn DIVISIONS
There are THREE Torn Divisions:

Torn War Clan
The Warclan represents the GvG players and officers of the Guild.
They have their own forums and meetings in addition to regular Guild events.
Members of this division must be willing to put forth the added effort in preparation and tactical training required in fielding a good GvG team.

Torn Pathfinders
The PvE specialists Division.
Runners, Farmers, Mission specialists (SF,FoW,UW, DoA especially), this is your division. Discussions and training are not formal and in fact the main topics of everyday discussion in the guild, but additional standing content for the site s provided from these members and in the Torn Pathfinder Forums.

Torn Legion
The PvX specialists Division.
These are the players that specialize in both aspects (the Pve - Runners, Farmers, Mission specialists (SF,FoW,UW, DoA especially), and the GvG'ers) this is your division. Discussions and training is provided if you wish to be considered for this division please let a Grande Master, Officer or the Guild Leader know. Since this does include the PvP side, there may be more you will have to do to become part of this division.

As you can see, this is a developing place that each of you can help contribute to and be a part of. We want all members to know they matter in this guild.

Welcome to the Family!
